The problem

Maybe you struggle to get your ideas and expertise the attention they deserve because:

•You're used to talking to other experts in your field

•Your field is conceptually difficult or complex

•Your training hasn't included or emphasised communication skills

•You don't want to feel you're oversimplifying things

•You believe you aren't creative

•You lack confidence in presenting yourself

•You  believe that to appear smart, you have to make things look complex (this is forgivable, but see here for why you shouldn't do that!)

What you'll learn

By the end of the full day course, you will:

• Be better able to communicate technical concepts to non-specialists
• Be familiar with common problems and how to solve them
• Have been introduced to, and have practised, basic storytelling techniques to make your presentations engaging, memorable, and action-oriented
• Be better able to use visuals to express ideas
• Be better able to use your voice to command attention
• Be better able to use storytelling with data
• Know what to do when a presentation goes wrong
• Be more confident speaking in public
• Have a roadmap for further skill development

You'll do this through the art and science of storytelling, as this is the most powerful way to grab an audience's attention, create a memorable presentation of your skills, experience, and ideas, and inspire others to act.

The exact syllabus will depend on your specific needs, but here's an example:

The course could be focused on a specific industry- such as fintech- and on a specific skillset, such as pitching.

Half-day courses can be laser-focused on specific topics.

Methodology

There are three core principles:

•Discover: you will uncover key ideas for yourself, through structured tasks, with my guidance ("guided discovery")

•Engage: you'll be actively involved at every stage, not just sitting there listening to me!

•Practice: putting the ideas into practice right away and relating them to your day-to-day work.

This course is not a lecture!
